Best Destination Wedding Resorts in Cancun: Secrets Moxche vs Majestic Mirage

Our team recently spent two days in Cancun touring 12 resorts, with one major goal in mind: to get a better feel for some popular resorts so we can confidently recommend them to our clients.

There’s only so much you can tell from photos online. Seeing these properties in person made a huge difference, especially when it comes to ceremony setups, overall flow, and how everything actually feels on-site.

These were two of the resorts that stood out the most for the best destination wedding experience in Cancun.

Best Cancun Destination Wedding Resorts: Secrets Moxche vs Majestic Mirage

Secrets Moxché

Secrets Moxché is one of the most elevated destination wedding options in Cancun right now.

The overall design and layout feel more high-end than a typical all-inclusive, and the ceremony spaces reflect that. Everything feels very intentional, from the setup to the surrounding views, which makes it a great fit for couples who want something that feels a little more upscale.

This is an adults-only resort, so it’s especially ideal for couples planning a more traditional adults-only destination wedding or honeymoon-style celebration.

We also have a bride getting married here next year, so it was great to see the property in person and feel confident in how everything will come together for her big day.

Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres

Majestic Mirage was a bit of a surprise for us in the best way.

It’s a newer property and feels very clean, updated, and well-maintained throughout. The ceremony spaces are beautiful and feel well thought out, and the resort overall offers a really nice balance of quality and value.

This is a great option for couples who want a destination wedding that feels elevated, but still works well for a wider range of guests.

We also have a bride getting married here later this year, so getting to walk the property with that in mind was especially helpful.

A Unique Option: Dreams Jade

While Dreams Jade was not one of our top overall favorites from the trip, it does offer something very unique that is worth highlighting for destination weddings.

First, the entire property is 100% handicap accessible, which is a huge benefit for couples who need that level of accessibility for themselves or their guests.

It also has a different overall vibe compared to most family-friendly resorts. Even though it is technically a family resort, it tends to feel more like an adults-only property and is actually quite popular with honeymooners and couples.

This makes it a really good option if you want more of an adults-only feel for your wedding, but still want to allow kids to attend. It doesn’t have the same high-energy, kid-focused atmosphere as some other family resorts, so you’re not going to feel like there are kids everywhere, but your guests can still bring theirs if needed.
