In order to re-affirm tourist confidence in the wake of media coverage which highlighted recent tourist deaths at Dominican Republic resorts, thirteen major hotel operators announced a commitment to a set of security standards and safety guidelines under the “Punta Cana Promise” program. United’s Fantasy Flight Transports Children in Need, Families to ‘North Pole’
Last Saturday, 150 children and their families boarded a United Airlines flight from Washington Dulles International Airport to the North Pole. This is the 30th year that United Airlines and Children’s Hospice International have organized this program, which brings joy to families with children battling life-threatening illnesses. The “top secret” flight path lasted about 30-40 minutes and arrived at Gate D29. When the families exited the aircraft, the gate was decorated like Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole. Tourists Endangered During Deadly Volcanic Eruption in New Zealand
Earlier this week, a volcanic eruption on White Island off the coast of New Zealand occurred. Yesterday, rescue efforts became more difficult and complicated due to a magnitude 5.3 earthquake that struck near the area of Gisborne. Southwest’s New Enhancement to Tracking Travel Funds
Frequent travelers love Southwest Airlines due to the ease at which you can cancel and change flights. However, it’s technology has not always been user-friendly in terms of tracking refund vouchers. When a traveler cancels a Southwest flight for a nonrefundable reservation, Southwest issues them a Travel Fund voucher. In theory, this is a great system. The problem arises when travelers go back to find their Travel Fund numbers to redeem their vouchers. Now, for all flights canceled on or after December 3, 2019, Southwest will keep track of your Southwest Travel Funds for you.
