Sara and Cassidy celebrated their Hard Rock Cancun destination wedding in June, with the help of our amazing agent, Marissa Hatcher. From the beginning, they knew they wanted their wedding to be about more than just one day. They envisioned a full week in paradise where their closest friends and family could relax, have fun and celebrate together!
“We knew pretty early on that we wanted our wedding to feel less like just one day and more like a week-long celebration with the people we love most. A destination wedding felt perfect for us because we wanted our closest friends and family to be able to escape to paradise with us, relax, have fun, and make memories together. There was something so special about getting married with our toes in the sand, surrounded by the people who had supported us throughout our relationship.”
A Full Week of Celebrating in Paradise
Sara and Cassidy wanted the entire experience to feel fun, tropical and completely their own. They added personal touches throughout the week, including signature drinks, welcome bags and special details at the reception. The celebration didn’t stop after the wedding either. They hosted a rainbow-themed pool day the following day so everyone could keep the party going. “We basically wanted the entire week to feel like one giant party with our favorite people!”
Hard Rock Cancun was a great fit for the kind of destination wedding week they had imagined. Having everyone stay at the same resort meant their guests could enjoy a full vacation together, while the resort’s entertainment and amenities gave everyone plenty to do on their own. “We could go from wedding planning mode to sitting by the pool with a drink in our hands, which was exactly the kind of wedding week we wanted.” They also loved working with their onsite coordinator, Diana, and her team, who helped make the wedding experience feel seamless from start to finish. Saying “I Do” at Hard Rock Cancun
Of course, finally getting to say “I do” on the beach was one of the biggest highlights. “After so much planning and anticipation, there was something surreal about being on the beach, looking at each other, and realizing that we were actually getting married!” But some of their favorite memories came from simply having everyone they loved together in one place. “The entire week is one giant favorite memory. Having our friends and family there, getting ready together, going to the pool, dancing, drinking, laughing, and just enjoying each other was exactly what we hoped our wedding would be!”
Advice for Planning a Destination Wedding in Cancun
For other couples considering a Cancun destination wedding, Sara and Cassidy highly recommend working with a travel agent who specializes in destination weddings. “Having someone who could help coordinate everyone’s travel and answer questions along the way made the process so much easier, especially when you have a large group of people traveling internationally. Most importantly, Sara and Cassidy wanted their wedding to feel like them: “fun, relaxed, a little chaotic, and full of people we love.” Looking back, that’s exactly what they got. “We spent so much time planning one day, but what we ended up with was an entire week of memories that we will have for the rest of our lives. If we could do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing!”
