The Best Disney World Hotels Guide

We’ve rounded up the best hotels at Walt Disney World hotels for families in 2023. Why stay at a resort at Walt Disney World? Disney World hotels offer that Disney “magic” and have specific perks that only Disney resort guests have access to. For example, the 60-Day FastPass+ window perk is one of the best perks of staying at a Disney hotel. This perk allows you to make FastPass+ reservations for your entire stay 60 days in advance of your arrival date. People who are not staying at a Disney hotel can only make reservations 30 days in advance.

Other perks include Extra Magic Hours which allow you to access specific parks an extra hour in the morning or evening each day. You also get to book Advance Dining Reservations for your entire stay once you are 180 days out from your first day. In addition, you have access to Disney’s Magical Express and other Disney Transportation.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great bang for your buck, with relatively low-priced standard rooms compared to some of the deluxe resorts. While the location isn’t the greatest, you do have access to some of the best room options at competition prices. You’ll find animals roaming out back and a huge, stunning lobby with African artifacts. This property also has three great restaurants – Boma, Jiko and Sanaa – on site.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Wilderness Lodge is another relatively affordable option. In fact, it is the lowest-priced deluxe option at Walt Disney World. The theme here is a combo of U.S. national park lodges, the Pacific Northwest, and Native American culture. They also have three dining options: Artist Point, Whispering Canyon, and Geyser Point Bar & Grill. Again the location is not ideal, but the other perks of this property (affordability, great restaurants, nice accommodations) make up for it.

Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter

Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter

Port Orleans French Quarter is one of the best moderately-priced Disney World hotels. We love the Port Orleans Resort French Quarter upon the first entrance, where you’ll find an outdoor-themed area with cobblestone-style flooring, a fountain, and French Quarter-style light posts. The pathways and building facades are pulled straight from the real French Quarter, with wrought iron elements and New Orleans street signs. However, the only restaurant on site is the food hall – Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. It serves New Orleans specialties like po’boy sandwiches, beignets, and jambalaya.

Disney's Pop Century Resort

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Pop Century Resort is one of the most popular value resorts that Disney offers. The pop culture-themed hotel is located near Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You’ll notice upon looking at a map that each section of the building is themed (on the exterior only) to a decade – from the 1950s through the 1990s. It is a large property, with 11 buildings and three pools. There is one large food court restaurant on the property, Everything Pop! They serve a standard lineup of pizza, burgers, salads, pasta, sandwiches, and breakfast in the morning. This property is also connected to the new Disney Syliner gondolas, making it easy to get to your favorite Disney parks such as Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort makes this list because of its ideal location within walking distance of the Magic Kingdom. This close proximity offers an unbeatable view of Cinderella’s Castle and Space Mountain. This 295-room resort has three-bedroom villas with kitchenettes that accommodate up to nine people. This is the highest occupancy you will find at Disney’s Villa Properties. It also has a restaurant and a pool with a waterslide.

Disney's Boardwalk Inn

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn makes the list because of the actual boardwalk on the property. It is situated along Crescent Lake and features carnival games, restaurants, and shops. In addition, you can rent bikes here to do some exploring. It also has a pool with a waterslide and guestrooms for up to six guests.

Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

At Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, you can book a room for up to six guests. This is the only Disney Value Resort Hotel to offer accommodations for that size. Kids will love the Themed Family Suites – think Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King – which include kitchenettes and two bathrooms. It also has three swimming pools, including the largest one in Disney World. In addition, it has an arcade, a food court, and drawing classes for adults and kids.
